CIBE Fellowship

Fellowship status is the Association’s highest grade of membership, conferred only upon those whose sustained achievements, influence, and professional distinction have demonstrably advanced the frontiers of the discipline. Fellowship signifies recognition by peers as a leader of exceptional merit and enduring impact.
Who Fellowship Is For
The Fellowship is intended for senior professionals, innovators, academics, and executives who have achieved distinction through exceptional contributions to their field. Ideal candidates typically:

  1. Have demonstrated outstanding leadership in [field or discipline].
  2. Have made influential contributions — whether through pioneering research, transformative innovation, or professional practice.
  3. Are recognized by peers and institutions as thought leaders shaping the discipline’s direction and future.

 

Eligibility and Criteria for Election
Election to Fellowship is highly selective and based on nomination and invitation by an active fellow and board respectively, including evidence of outstanding accomplishment. Applicants should typically demonstrate:

  1. Ground-breaking work or innovation that has significantly advanced the state of practice or understanding.
  2. National or international recognition through awards, invitations, citations, or leadership roles.
  3. Substantial service or leadership within professional, academic, or policy-making communities.
  4. A nomination or endorsement by an existing Fellow or a professional of comparable standing.

 

Application Process

  1. Invitation by a Fellow or Member of the Board
    A Fellow of the Association — or another recognized senior professional — must support your application, affirming your professional standing and achievements.
  2. Document your achievements
    Prepare a comprehensive dossier detailing your contributions, leadership record, and evidence of influence (e.g., publications, patents, awards, keynote lectures, professional recognition).
  3. Submit your application
    Complete the Fellowship application form and attach your current CV or equivalent professional profile highlighting your record of excellence and sustained impact.
  4. Assessment and decision
    Applications are evaluated by the Fellowship Committee, composed of distinguished senior members of the profession. Decisions are based on peer review and holistic assessment of evidence. Successful candidates receive formal notification and are listed in the Association’s Register of Fellows.

Application Fee
A one-time, non-refundable application fee of $500 applies. This fee covers administrative and review costs associated with the Fellowship election process. Payment details are provided upon application submission.

All submissions should be made to administration@cibeusa.org

Applicants are expected to take a compulsory practical refresher course which is a requisite for certification to become an Fellow member of the Institute.

 

Course Award
Once applicants have completed the Refresher Course, a Certificate of fellowship will be awarded by the approval of the Board.
